Yesterday was very warm here and i wanted some fresh fruit and salad for the weekend I could’ve driven into town with my air con keeping me very cool but like a walk so walked as it’s a very pretty walk and I cut through the churchyard as I love churches and grave yards. I was also rewarded as my local fruit and veg shop had some lovely English raspberries which’s my favourite fruit, so happy days.
I had my Apple Watch on so know that my walk was 2.2 miles took just under an hour with 43 mins walking 30 briskly usually I mange 32 or 33 mins walking briskly when I walk into town. But it was very warm, my average heart beat was 98bpm which I was happy with especially as I’ve been suffering from Hay fever so had had a decongestant with caffeine.
I’ve sat on this bench many times during the pandemic wondering how things will pan out with this insidious virus, which’s spreading like a wild fire again so am very grateful for my surroundings as it’s hard to be spooked when you’re alone with nature. I’m also fascinated by social history so read the headstones and the best bit is I can go home when I want to…

Good morning Jerry. What a peaceful photo. It certainly helps one to put things into perspective especially in these weird times. Your post is thought provoking thank you for sharing. Have a beautiful day.
I was out running at 0.500 which is a first for me. Our oldest dog decided that once again his ears were playing up so he was flapping them like no tomorrow. He’s 10 and has had trouble with wax in his ears all his life. So hubby and I and our other dog rallied round him and did what we had to do to relieve his discomfort ...that was at about 0.400ish so I decided to get out early for my run.The sunrise was a beautiful sight to behold.😀

Hey good for you for going for a run at 5am I love watching the sunrise and the dawn chorus, so nice one. I hope that your 10 year old dog is OK as it’s very disorienting when something affects our heating.
I really like having an early morning mug of tea sitting in my garden if I’m up early.
Thank you for your response and I hope that you all enjoy the rest of your day now.
Jerry 😊

Thanks Jerry! Yes jacks okay now and outside with Myfi his niece both lying down taking in the morning air having already been out for their walk before it gets too hot! Another nice photo!
So nice! It reminds me to weed out courtyard soon for us to not only see weeds popping up between paths and in our veggy pots when sitting there in the morning.
At the moment I just sit there and start to think of all the work that needs doing. 😩😂😃
So need to sort out a peaceful and weeded corner for a start.
Well it was 30°C in the shade already at 9.45 am here in Ripon, North Yorkshire! So weeding has to wait! I work in a restaurant kitchen and it was so hot! Sweating buckets and losing weight, my jeans are all baggy now!
Resting today as back to work tomorrow again 🙄🌅🏖️🥵 so no weeding for me 😁
Thank you CBDB I bought the adjoining land which had been abandoned for over 10 years. I’ve had it cleared and am turning it into a wildlife garden as deer and boar visit and this last week I’ve been chopping tree saplings down that are up to 15M high but my tree surgeon and his gang are coming in soon and for a week so that will be great.
There were brambles and stinging nettles firmly entrenched in this area and I literally hacked my way in so there’s always something to do at home and in the garden. 😊
I have a half moon shaped Garden divided by a Garden gate! Semi detached house I live in! Prefer lawn to gravel, as gravel, good gracious, the weed is such a pain!
Love my flower beds with honeysuckles, Clematis, roses, and all sorts of other shrubs! It's hard to keep on top when working as well!
Wished I could wave a magic wand at times Jerry 😂👌
Hey thank you, your garden sounds really attractive so nice one, I’m a lazy gardener and only wanted a small veg patch but when I saw this and the cottage I knew I wanted to buy the lot. It’s hard work and sometimes a lot of work but I took early retirement so it keeps me motivated.
You enjoy your day off now as it must be hot working in a kitchen in this weather. 🔥🌞
So imagine cutting the grass here as I have to use a brush cutter as it’s on a hill and the boar dig it up!

Beautiful! And boars? (Do you live in Wales or Scotland?)
Yeah, here in our garden we sometimes just have to accept nature taking over for a bit. We are also immensely lucky with our garden. We renovated a Victorian and dilapidated and flooded old post office with a 100 year old tiny coach house (for one horse and one cart) and it has a double width double length garden at the back.
So really lucky, but this year the growth has been just too fast.
But we still manage to spend quite a bit of time outside, including doing yoga and it came particularly important for doing Strength and Flex . (See pic and post over at Strenth and Flex healthunlocked.com/strength.... )
Hey CBDB your garden looks lovely very secluded and an attractive place to be. I love the sound of the coach house with an extra garden, so let’s of space to share with nature.
I live in England just the other side of the Welsh border in boar territory.
If your home was flood damaged you’re obviously reaping the benefits of your hard work restoring it and live near a river so nice one I’m very pleased for you.
Yes, the garden was one of its selling points. The house lay-out was great, but it needed and still needs a lot of work.
And huge welcome to Strength and Flex. We have all sorts of stuff and workouts, and it is always a good idea to start by looking at the pinned posts: healthunlocked.com/strength...
It does look so peaceful there! Gravestones are history as you said! We have a gravyard below our Ripon Cathedral, interesting to read these inscriptions on these gravestones as some are quite old! Well today is another hot day! I better enjoy it whilst I can Jerry 👌🏖️
Hi good walk and lovely peaceful place to sit down. You seem to have plenty of nature in your garden to keep you occupied. Hope you enjoyed your fresh fruit salad yummy. On one of my pictures I have posted, at the bottom of the hills ,I took photo that’s were the cemetery is so peaceful and lovely setting. You can see those hills from our house. Enjoy the rest of your day 😎
