I’m training for a walking half marathon at the moment but I still like to go out for a fun walk. No particular distance, pace or steps. I realised while I was out today I do these walks to relax and clear my head. I love the fact that exercise dosent have to be hard graft to be effective,
Who has been out for a walk today and did you enjoy it?

Hi Rfc, so glad your bout of flu didn't seriously disrupt your plans for the half marathon! I'm not doing too well on the mobility front this week, but I did get out today. Only managed about 1000 steps - and at a snail's pace too - but I really felt better for getting out in the fresh air! And a bit of gentle exercise does help to loosen up the joints! Haven't been back long, so relaxing with a cuppa!
Glad you got out Kay. Your wise to listen to your body and if it needs a little down time this week, take it. Understanding when to push and when to rest is one of the most important things to learn as we get fitter. Enjoy that cuppa.
I find walking great for clearing my head. I walked for miles in the rain on Monday - it was for a purpose but I could have got to my destination on public transport - and loved it. The last half hour I got fed up of having my hood up so left it down and brave the elements. It was surprisingly liberating!
I’m with you, hoods and me don’t get on, I prefer a baseball cap if it is raining then only my ponytail gets wet. Well done for getting out there and glad it helped to clear your head.
I've never thought of myself as a baseball cap kind of person but, then again, I never thought of myself as a hoodie kind of person until I bought one, lol. Maybe I need to investigate hats!
