Hi there,

I have the Active 10 app, but I wondered if anyone here can recommend a good pedometer app? It would be good to know how many miles and steps I have taken.

Thanks :-)

I know my partner was using Google Fit last year to record his walks. I'm not sure if it recorded steps or kilometers. I also don't know if it measures all the time, because I remember him starting it before walks and stopping it after walks.

Thanks runswithdogs . I just downloaded it, so will give it a try. I can see that you can 'start an activity' and get stats just for that, but I get the impression that is will count all your steps in a day. Let's see...

Hi Ruby8, I track my steps and try to do 10000 a day (which doesn't always happen). i've had a Fitbit since August and I love it, it is a great motivator. I did get it for my birthday as it is a little expensive, there are cheaper versions out there though. When I go for a walk I use Map my Walk which tracks your walk tells you how many miles and steps you have done and many other things.. happy stepping

what sort of price range are you thinking? pedometers that only do steps can start as little as 3-4 pounds. You can get free apps that do both but you need to have your phone with you all day to get the steps. Then it goes to activity monitors that are worn on the wrist and can go from 12.99 all the way up to 200 pounds. If you give us some sort of idea we can help to point you in the right direction.

I went looking for something to record my steps when my up move device conked out last year.

I found a great app called stepz, it records your steps, mileage and calories used. I think I paid 99 pence to use it add free.

I’m very pleased with it, it’s very clear and easy to use, I use it with an iPod touch, it just means I have to keep it on me as much as possible,it works as a motion sensor. I tend to wear it in a case on my hip. It seems pretty accurate and does not seem to record steps when you’re not moving like I’ve seen on reviews of some step devices.

Thanks guys. Realfoodieclub , I probably don't want to spend much/any money. An android app will be fine. Of course if someone volunteers to buy me a fitbit, I wouldn't say no.....

:-P ;-)
