Did my Boxing Day walk just to do something before I go for my op on Friday managed 6k took me just over an hour would have done it in less time if I had’nt gone across a field and picked up a load of mud which helped slow me down. Should be able to do one more run on Thursday before going in Thursday afternoon.

I am having a brain tumour removed so I am having to be careful so I am only tending to walk for an hour when I go out.

Hi, it does not matter how far, just that you keep active. It's much better to be realistic and regular exercising than pushing yourself too much and having to take time out to recover or make excuses not to repeat it. Small steps, especially when you have health problems. It's easy to criticise but you must focus on maintaining realistic goals and targets. I say, well done and all the best for the future. I wish you well.

We have many different walkers of different levels on this forum, we try and by supportive of all our members rather than telling them their achievements are “not much”. We want to be able to encourage all walkers of all levels. Please try and keep this in mind, a harsh word put the wrong way can discourage.

Sounds like a great walk. You could probably consider it cardio AND weightlifting if you're carrying a bunch of excess mud on the shoes. Well done and keep it up.

All good wishes for your op manofkent - you are truly inspirational to the rest of us!

Well done MichaelH070862 for getting out and doing 6k around the village. We did a 5k forest trail with our doggo yesterday. We had never been to this trail before and stopped by a little pub for a coffee on the way home.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day out and I'd have to say it was the highlight of the Christmas break so far. Isn't there something special about the freshness of the air on a sunny winter's day?

Good luck with your hospital trip. I have MS and I'm just out from a week in respite care, so I know how precious it is to be out and active. Keep posting... Your positivity inspires me😂
