Welcome to our virtual walking group. We are here to support and encourage. I always find that being part of a group helps to keep the motivation going and makes it more fun.

Whatever the walking goals you are working towards is fine, it is all about encouraging each other to achieve those little goals as we progress.

Please feel free to post as many times as you like through the week and the at the beginning of the new week I will put a new post up. I'm going to number the posts but that's more for my benefit but if you want to use the weeks to set yourself goals please do.

Wishing you a happy healthy week and happy walking. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️😀😀😀.

Hi RFC and everyone! I have tried to keep up the walking over the holidays with varying degrees of success. i have managed an 8K walk last week, and plenty of shorter walks as my son is massively into nature. When you stop every few minutes to identify a butterfly/ bird/ crawly thing it is difficult to get a head of steam up but at least it keeps me in the habit. I am hoping to haul myself out of bed for an early-morning walk tomorrow. Happy walking!

Hehe, I know that one MrRfc loves his photography and when we go for hikes we stop so he can take beautiful photos. I have to keep having a little word with myself about the joy of walking is for both of us and it really doesn't matter if you stop to take in the beauty of it all. It does me good sometimes just to slow down and enjoy what I am doing rather than rushing around everywhere at breakneck speed.

In my head I call them "mindfulness" walks and remind myself that my teenage son is happy to be seen with his aged mother!!

Lots of little walks this week. It's been busy so it's tough fitting everything in. I was speaking with my OH earlier today and we're hoping to get out to the mountains at least once this season for a walk. We'll really have to make up for it with a spectacular year next year.
