It depends on what level/type of walking you want. If you Google walking for health.org.uk you can search for a group near you. These are usually steady, sociable walks of about an hour or more. Various levels etc. Joining one will introduce you to others of a like mind re walking who might like to walk with you at other times too. . If you want something more 'challenging' I notice there is a Salford over 50s group which goes further afield every month. (Forgive me if your not over 50!). But Google is a good way to discover what's available out there! Good luck.
