Find a friend to walk with.. put out a call on this forum, and see if there is anyone near you who feels the same :)

Oh come on! You are an adult. We can do things on our own. Get out there, boldly go, etc 😀 I borrow a dog. It's never dull 😀 I have lost a ton of weight anorl 🐕

Have a look on Google, find somewhere you've never been before and go there. That's what I do with my runs, I've been to amazing places I never knew existed, and in my home town too. Find something you're interested in, and chase it down! For instance, I've been running to animal sculptures around Cambridge, I've recently been keeping an eye out for Cambridge herons, graffiti done in the style of Banksy. I saw 3 this morning! It's really up to you what you get out of it...

Exactly. Vary the route and enjoy places you have never visited before. Variety is the spice of life!

I lived in central Gloucester for 30 years and up until the time I left, I was still finding places I'd never been to or had any reason to go to other than to run or walk. Some of them were rather nice!

Use the time to think. Think lovely thoughts. Sort out all those irritating little problems or work through any difficulties. Plan your next holiday. Sing your favourite songs. Let your subconscious decide and just go with it! Bliss.

Google: walkingforhealth.org.uk and you'll be able to find a group near you. The walks are aimed at people like us who want to step up their fitness levels. In our area (Sefton) there are walks every day of the week- of varying pace/distance and levels of 'ability'. All walks are led by volunteers and very sociable. Many people attend alone and end up making new walking buddies but if that's not for you you can keep yourself to yourself! It's free and you don't need to book. No big commitment- just to yourself. Try it.

Not what you're looking for?
