I walked for 30 mins today. 2,500 steps. Dont know if this is what I am meant to do.??

Fantastic job for your first day! You should keep it up. Don't quit. It gets better each day you do the walking. You just need to get use to all the movement and exercise that you're doing with your legs. Have fun and keep us posted as to how it goes!

That is great news, well done. They say the first steps out are the hardest and you have done them. Ollio I'm going to add your name into our walking group so you can feel part of our little band as I know we have had a chat about it. See how you feel today. If your just starting off, the things to look out for are muscles aches and extreme tiredness. If either are very bad rest up before you you try again, if you feel fine that's great . We are all starting from different levels. My first walk out I fell asleep for a hour when I got back. πŸ˜€. But the next walk out was a bit further and I'm just building on it every walk.

I walk when the weather is good, so I am now playing catch up as summer is coming along. Also it is more enjoyable and therefore more likely to be maintained.

I do not accept that there is a minimum number of steps you must do each day, just an attitude to get out and do your best 3 times a week and if I achieve that I certainly feel better as a result.

Just build up distance over time.
