Hi, hope someone can reassure me.About 2 years ago I was diagnosed with piles and anal fissure. Now about every 5 to 6 months I get bright red blood on my toilet paper after wiping aver bowels opening. usually it only once or twice I use suppositories and laxatives when this happens and all it fine.

I have been to the doctors every time to get checked out my previous fit tests have been fine I am due the next in September.

Last wk it happened again this time had some pink in the toilet bowel as well. My bottom has been sore.

Tha

Had a phone consultation they said that I was doing all right things and that only to contact them if it goes on for 5 days or more that's never happened to me.

I was fine the next day but now worrying it could be something else stupid I know but I suffer from terrible health anxiety

Anyone else suffer in same way?

Thank you sorry about long post

I empathise having experienced the same.

I asked to be been referred, and had a partial endoscopy to check all was ok.

Bleeding still happens occasionally..probably because I’m not drinking enough water with food.

Thank you for that, helps to know someone else has the same I think it may be I don't drink enough water.

When you eat, try drinking sips of water between mouthfuls of food. I’ve also cut down on cups of coffee….this may have been making me dehydrated…and can lead to a ‘dry bowel’…that’s when these problems start.

I had a colonoscopy to check for anything more going on and I had surgery to remove the hemorrhoid. It wasn't severe but I didn't want to deal with it the rest of my life. The surgery was very painful and I'm still taking magnesium every day to help with bowel movements. But, I no longer feel myself clenching involuntarily and I don't have cramping and bleeding from the hemorrhoid. I was told the eat high fiber diet and drink at least 64 oz of water daily. Taking psyllium was ok but too much caused cramping too. Only magnesium doesn't for me. If you do get surgery just make sure you do not take anything that causes gas or cramping because that caused more pain than the surgery.

Thank you for that it's good to have that information from someone who's had the surgeryI do find it happens when I dont drink enough water and eat things I wouldn't normally eat

Waiting for a call from the doctors about doing a FIT test early as mine is due in September when I will be away

I have terrible health anxiety so just nice to get the reassurance

Its frustrating for it to happen once about twice a year

All the best to you
