been on this medicine for years for 2mg but haven't take that does in over 1 yr and been taking 1 mg but last 2 weeks got myself down to 0.5mg as want to get off this benzo and was prescribed tradazone 100mg. Has anyone weaned themselves off of that medicine as was prescribed that for sleep and said long term is hard to get off as becomes adicitive and not should be doing it all the time as i have no withdrwal symptoms as still on 0.5 (half of 1mg).

Any comments would be great. Thank you all

Well done tapering down from 2mg to 0.5mg. That is such a low dose that I really don’t see why the doctor felt the need to put you on trazodone which can cause brain fog. We need all the brain cells we have as we get older. You’ve shown yourself that you can manage on 0.5mg of lorazepam. Doesn’t really matter if you stay on it. Myself, I’d continue with that then break it into little bits to take around 0.25mg which probably won’t do much but psychologically will put your mind at ease and make you realise that you don’t need Trazodone or lorazepam. I live in Australia. Our doctors only prescribe drugs that we absolutely need. Prescription drugs aren't even allowed to be advertised to the public. The pharma companies in the US have a lot to answer for
