Looking for some advice please On the 2nd December I had covid then 14th December I started getting stomach pains the kind you get when you know you need to go to the loo I've had diarrhoea now for 4 weeks (I'm waiting on poo sample and blood results) doctor gave me something to stop the diarrhoea but doesn't work I'm at the end of my tether cant eat as not long afterwards I'm on the toilet and feeling totally drained. I’m so sorry…it must be awful.

Sometimes…the strangest symptoms can be triggered by Covid…but it could be coincidental…so your GP is the best person to advise on this.

keep a diary of what you are eating, you may just find the trigger. A couple of years’ ago I had stomach pains as bad as childbirth and loose bowels. GP said blood test showed a wheat intolerance, rude specialist told me to eat more porridge and veg - I eat plenty of both so that’s not the issue. I have found making my own bread rather than eating shop bought prevents issues. It’s also in breaded chicken and some takeaways so I’m happy to avoid.

Hope you get to the root of the issue.

OMG - that is exactly what happened to me! I’ve been on antibiotics for six weeks now and it started calming after the first pill. My doc doesn’t like steroids so she gave me the antibiotics for their anti-inflammatory properties. I’m still scheduled for a colonoscopy this week to make sure it isn’t something else (and it never is). My doc said that there is a version of covid that attacks the gut, and that was me. I hope this helps - it helped me to see that you have the same issue, albeit I feel bad that you are really suffering too. Maybe your doc can give you a course of steroids or antibiotics to help - I’m on Azrythomycin 250mg a day. If I find out anything else from my gastro, I will let you know!
