I think i may have diverticulisis, i have had ibs in the past and its cleared up but this is more painful . I would like to know what new foods to eat.
I eat/ or did almost anything, i havent been to the doctors because it takes ages to get an appointment and if i can control by diet it may clear up. Any ladies out there with this condition thanks so much.

🤔 Obviously it would be much simpler if ‘changing diet’ would settle digestive issues…but for peace of mind any ‘new symptoms’ are best discussed with your GP.
It’s possible to make matters worse with a radical change of diet …before having a definite diagnosis.
I have had diverticulosis since my 50s. It is important to see the GP or a senior nurse in the team. I was referred for X ray and it showed diverticular disease with spasm and I had some really bad ones but on regular tablets for that now. Buscopan can help as needed. I have found that everyone has different food trigger factors, so if you get pain after certain foods, avoid them.I eat a Mediterranean diet, avoid a lot of bread, pasta, pizza.Eat mainly veg and protein. I am now in my 80s, so doing OK! Keep a diary of symptoms and pain(what it is like & how long it lasts) for up to a week before medical appt When phone, emphasis you are having new severe abdominal pain and where it is. Remember- Stomach is ABOVE your belly button, bowels are below and that is where diverticulosis is. A lot of people say diverticulitis, which officially means inflammation but don't worry about that. It is basically the weakening of the muscle in the 30 ft of your bowel and you can get polyps. Good luck.
