Threads in urine

I must admit I worry a lot, but this morning when having my morning wee I noticed a white thread like substance in the toilet bowl. I was very unaware what it might be but left it as thought could be a build up of discharge over night. I then went for another wee later on in the day and saw it again. I checked the internet which I really shouldn’t do and got looking. First thing was an STI. I’ve had one sexual partner for 2 years now and have done 6 STI tests over the 2 years because I panic at the slightest thing and it always comes back negative, and feel like I keep wasting their medical equipment and money when I don’t think I need it. Another one was a UTI which I had over new years and come off medication 4th January. Do you think it’s my body just getting clear of the last bits of the infection ? I didn’t go to the doctors but order Nitrofurantoin as I wasn’t able to get to one for over a week as I was going away.

I’m just a bit worried on what it could be or should I just forget about it and see if it goes away. Should I get another STI kit ?

it’s possible this is caused by a Urinary infection of some kind..

Infections rarely disappear on their own. The best advice is to speak to your doctor.

is it possible that you are mistaking /confusing "in your wee" with vaginal discharge? Is it normal stringy discharge associated with ovulation perhaps?
