Covid query...

Husband and myself started "symptoms" just a few hours apart, and then tested positive. I appear to have a mild case (a recent cold virus was worse), but my husband is much worse with a fever and continuous dry cough etc.

My question is, should we be isolating from each other, is there a chance he could make my illness worse? I seem to vaguely remember advice about "viral load" increasing, but don't know if that still stands.

🙂 You need to ask your GP about your individual circumstances if you need to be reassured.

During lockdown I recall friends ‘isolating’ within their own home…but not everyone succumbs ..some people have mild cases or seem immune altogether.

This might not be necessary now since the majority of people have been vaccinated. But some people with specific diagnosis’s may still need to take extra care.

You're probably through the worst by now (I hope) but there's no need to isolate from eachother, as you both clearly have the same strain, so your immune system is already fighting off whatever infection you could potentially pass onto each other.

Thank you, we started symptoms within hours of each other and yes. we are through the worst now. Hubby is still coughing (day 8) but I have not been as bad as him, and recovered more quickly. It's been a journey :/

Glad you're on the upward :) my OH had a cough for about 3 weeks, everyone is different of course, but it improved gradually.

I’d like to know too, but I’m day 5 positive, and hubby is day 1…. I’ve worn a face mask around the house since Friday avoided people, slept alone, but now he has it, so what’s the point 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hope your feeling better
