Severe Hayfever

I know this isn’t the normal Woman’s Health kinda post, but I need some help!

I have severe Hayfever to the point my throat feels like it’s closing and my nose is constantly blocked. I’m taking antihistamines & nasal congestives. Are there any other things that I can take that are not that common or home remedies to help?

Thank you very much!

I'm not sure what you mean by 'not that common or home remedies' & I don't know what antihistamines you are trying, so I don't know if I can suggest anything you don't already know about.

I also don't know where you are located, so I don't know what might be available to you OTC or what you would need an Rx for.

Here in the states we can get ketotifen eye drops and also cromolyn sodium nasal spray, but to get oral versions, one needs an Rx.

OTC supplements often used for mast cell stabilizing are vit D (get blood levels checked if possible), vit C, magnesium, selenium methionine (100 mcg), zinc, bromelain (on empty stomach) and luteolin or quercetin.

I've found using a room air HEPA filter unit to be helpful and also low histamine diet.

I've heard people recommend a spoonful of local honey, as it's made from the pollen you're breathing in, and it helps you to get a tolerance to it.
