I treat myself with thrush treatment, then once I'm all cleared it comes back after I've had sexuel intercourse with my boyfriend? Should he be treated too?

There’s a possibility you and your partner are passing this back and forth, but it isn’t a sexually transmitted disease. If he has symptoms, it’s advisable that he has treatment too.

Can a man catch thrush from a female partner?

It's possible for thrush to be passed on through sexual intercourse, although this is uncommon.

Signs and symptoms of thrush

In men, symptoms of thrush can include:

redness, itching and irritation at the site of infection (often at the head of the penis)

thick, lumpy discharge under the foreskin

pain when passing urine

finding it hard to pull back the foreskin

The symptoms of thrush are similar in women, but the vagina is usually affected instead.

If you have thrush, it's best to avoid having sex until you've completed a course of treatment and the infection has cleared up.

I used to get repeated thrush infections, sex was often a trigger but tights, non-cotton pants, change of soap, almost anything would set it off. The only thing I found that helped long term was teatree oil.I know it sounds weird but it was suggested to me by a complimentary therapist who had the same issue. I just add a couple of drops to the gusset of my pants when I think something might trigger it (like sex or tights) and I no longer have an issue. If I do have an infection, which is rare these days, it can be a little stingy at first but otherwise its just a nice clean smell 🙂

Obviously don't try it if you're allergic.
