Reassurance needed. I'm really worried. November last year I had sterilisation done by keyhole.
Yesterday I noticed right beside the scar lower down on my pubic area, ( top of the pubic hairline area) they're is a hard lump. It's not the skin but the muscle wall if that's what it is.
No idea how long it's been there just discovered it yesterday
Just been to the doctors and he said it's not a hernia but when I cough it does kind of pop out and it is hard so he wants me to go for a scan because he said it might be scar tissue or an infected lump. I asked him if it was anything to worry about and he said no but I'm still really panicking and I just want to know if anybody else has had the same thing?

🤔It is entirely possible that this is due to the healing process, and it’s scar tissue causing a type of ‘ridge/lump’.
I haven’t had similar myself, although I have had keyhole surgery, it may very well depend on which area of the body is involved. But after I googled ‘scar tissue/lump due to keyhole surgery’ it seems your GP was giving a reasonable explanation.
Having previously found a lump myself I can empathise with your panic. If you have a contact to ring about having a scan, mention you’re willing to take a cancellation at short notice, it can speed the appointment time 🙂
Thank you for the reply. I just seem to keep flicking between calm and absolute panic. Fantastic idea to try to get a cancellation so I just need to find out exactly what department they referred me to for the ultrasound. Thank you x
