Someone help me *birth control*

I’m 18 years old, and all my life I’ve never had an issue with my natural periods. I got put on birth control (the pill) to help my skin at around 13/14, but with that came hell. My period would never stop, I would bleed for months and months at a time. The pill never made my periods extremely painful or heavy, it would just be the constant hassle of changing my pad or tampon every day for quite some time. I ditched the oral contraceptive after going to the doctors as she suggested the implanon. I had that for 3 years, did the exact same thing to me. 6 months of no periods, then bang all of a sudden I’d be bleeding for months at a time. I bled for roughly 12 months straight until i had enough and went to the doctors. I was put on another oral contraceptive to stop the bleeding, but by that time the rod had actually moved out of place in my arm and it needed to be removed. At that point, I was quite sick of the whole birth control thing and didn’t need any contraceptive, plus my acne cleared up over time. I ditched birth control for around 12 months, and natural periods were a breeze. I met someone a couple of months ago and needed to be put back on contraceptive. This time my doctor suggested the depo provera shot, she explained that it would either help my period or make it worse, and being pretty desperate for a contraceptive that wont make me bleed every day, I took the risk. I got the depo shot around 6 weeks ago, as soon as I got it I felt like I was coming down with the flu. My back and lower stomach was in excruciating pain, I would be light headed and dizzy, my heart felt like it was always skipping a beat and I was nauseous. Those symptoms settled down after around a week and my period was delayed for 3 weeks until all of a sudden I got the most horrible period pains of my life and woke up in a pool of blood. My period is so heavy, so painful I can’t even walk even on prescribed pain killers. My doctor also prescribed me cyklokapron to reduce/help the bleeding and it hasn’t done a thing. This period is a bit confusing for me as it could be a possible miscarriage, the period is that heavy and painful I’m starting to think it might not even be a period, as there is a very high chance I could’ve gotten pregnant before I got the shot. I nearly called an ambulance on myself the pain was that bad, and I was passing tissue. But from what I know the depo can make your periods extremely heavier and this could be normal on it, I just don’t know as this is the first time I’ve ever had it and wasn’t sure what to expect.

What my question is, is there anyone out there that can give me advice on what to do? I realise it would be easier to just go see a gynaecologist, but where I’m from there is a 6+ month wait to see one. Like is there any birth control out there that does not do this to us? I obviously can not fall pregnant, but I can’t live a normal life if everyday I have blood gushing out of my vagina and pain like no other. Correct me if I’m wrong but how are females even supposed to have intercourse if they bleed every day? I need answerssss

Sounds an awful experience. I had a Mirena coil fitted due to very heavy periods caused by having to take blood thinners. I've not had a proper period since. It's not for everyone I know. Hope you get it sorted soon

Bless you!! Have you tried the POP pill? You take it every day each month and don’t have a break.

In the past 3 years I have probably had about 6 periods- as this pill 90% of the time stops an egg from being released.

In the UK they rarely put girls on this pill because it is very expensive but is the only pill that can be taken if you have migraines etc.

May be worth asking your doctor about this if you haven’t tried it, two periods a year if that is a blessing!

Hope everything will be sorted soon for you :) sounds so traumatic what you’re experiencing :(
