Nhs ultra sound scan

Hello

I phoned up today to ask about ultra sound scan of pelvis and they said I couldn't go to certain hospital as male staff need someone with them. I don't understand why a male member of staff need another staff member around for pelvis ultra sound? Any thoughts would be good !
