For the past 5 days or so I've been having sudden sharp, shooting (electric shock) type pain in the left side of my vulva (or that's where it feels they're coming from anyway). Bit confused as can't find anything about this on the internet, and it doesn't seem to fit the symptoms of vulvodynia. The area isn't tender or sore, intercourse or pressure isn't painful, visibly it all looks normal - the pain is just totally random.
The pain lasts about 1 - 2 seconds and happens around 5 - 10 times a day. My period is due in about a week so could it be related to that? I should clarify that they're not from deep inside my vagina. They feel like they're coming from the surface of the vulva itself.
I had a punch biopsy more than 3 weeks ago in that area (for a skin condition), and it all healed up fine. But now this :/ Hoping it's not nerve damage or anything?
Quite worried :/ Would appreciate any help or insights. Seeing my doctor in a few days.
Note: I'm clear for all STDs and thrush.
