Hello Friends,

I am Faivy. I have observed for a long while now that fibroid is becoming very common in the society. I thought it only afflicts the older women, especially after their child bearing age.

Now, it seems the younger women are having a more share if the issue. Three of my friends who got married over three years ago have had difficulties in getting pregnant, all to the fault of fibroid.

Please, I want to know why it is more rampant now, and the best solution for fibroids. Thank you

It's not more common just diagnosed earlier and more frequently now ultrasound scans are easily available.

My gynae told me years ago if you take 10 women most will have fibroids and cysts, they just won't know about it.

Yes Bantam 12, you are probably right. Ultrasound scans are easily available, even to the local areas. There is also this speculation that after removal through surgery, it grows back.

Due to this some ladies who aren't married yet have resolved to go for surgery only after wedding so they can get pregnant afterwards. Thus, preventing the further growth of fibroids. Don't know how true this is.
