Hi everyone
Just wanted to ask so I can clear my head a bit
Today I was laid down and out of nowhere I got these sudden constant sharp stabbing pains in the left side of my stomach and on my belly button
It was so awful and painful that I physically couldn't sit up
The only way that I could try to reduce the pain in any way was by tensing my stomach as hard as I could and, using a lot of energy, trying to move onto my side and curl up into a ball
I have never felt pain so extreme and when looking it up online it mentioned that this is the most common symptom of pancreatis along with nausea and diarrhea- both of which I've been experiencing for the past few days along with a little bit of a fever
When I looked on the NHS website it stated that the most common cause of pancreatis is gall stones
Now what's interesting about this is that a lot of people in my family have had to have their gall bladder removed due to complications and gall stones, with one of them being my mother's mum and then my father's mum died due to gall bladder cancer
But what I'm confused at is whether this really is something I should worry about? I suffer with IBS already and am used to a constant background stomach pain and bloating daily but I've never experience such a powerful constant pain that caused me to not be able to get up before and so localised as well so I'm not entirely whether this could just be my ibs? Also I'm only 21 so I don't know whether I should be expecting these kinds of issues or whether I should worry
Thank you
