Cholesterol is a waxy substance present in the body that promotes production of hormones and certain vitamins, however if you have a large amount of the 'wrong' kind in your blood it starts to build up in your arteries.

Arteries carry oxygenated blood from your heart to your body: the brain, organs, then extremities (since your organs are more important then your arms and legs). So if you have pain in your legs or arms that might be why.

But if arteries are blocked they won't be able to give your body blood. All organs need blood and one organ, which removes cholesterol; the liver, may not be getting enough blood to do the work it needs to and therefore the cholesterol just keeps building itself up.

Your organs work so your body is able to function, if they're functioning at a low rate, your body is going to have issues doing things. For example, digestion may take longer.

As I said before organs come first before extremities, so your probably sore because there's no blood flowing to them.

You could be tired because the build up of cholesterol can actually grow in your heart.

If you have high cholesterol your more prone to heart disease, here's a site you can read up on it:
