Is there anyone their that suffers from muscle pain. Im on chlorestrol tablets but came off them for two weeks thought it ws them giving me the muscle pain. My doctor says it could be the menopause anyone else feels this its driving me up the wall

Your doctor could do a blood test to measure levels of 'creatine kinase' in your blood.

I googled 'can tablets for cholesterol cause muscle pain' and clicked on nhs.uk statins>side effects>NHS choices. Look down the list of links for this.

Also, shown on the same list as the above link. An old post on healthunlocked, from 2012, which had 55 replies! Someone had asked 'can anyone who has had muscle pain from statins describe the pain'.

Are you on statins? Some people have a gene that causes severe muscle pain when taking them. It's called statin myopathy. I know because I've got the gene and have to avoid statins. It could be worth asking your doctor about this.
