Food labels!

I noticed whilst shopping how Morrison's "Nu Me" baked beans actually had more calories in them than Heinz's ordinary ones! (Let alone Heinz's low salt / low sugar ones).

So that just shows why the advice of "always read the label" is sound.

Shame really - I've found some of the Nu Me products quite good.

I'm not a fan of the 'diet' versionas of things at all really. I would much rather have 2 regular chipolatas cooked under a grill to drain off some excess grease than have 2 'light' sausages. Rather, I prefer to find the most natural forms of things - unsweetened cereals like porridge oats and bran flakes (ok they have a bit of sugar in them), or only peanuts peanut butter with nothing added, which is high calories, but no additives, and you only have a small amount. I would also much rather have wholemeal breads even though they tend to have slightly higher calories than the white loaves!
