Hi OneLump22. If you post your food plan on the Daily Diary (Part 2) you'll find you get much more interaction than posting a stand alone post. Many of us share and chat about our day and our food and exercise plans for the day there. You'll find the Daily Diary in the pinned posts which Moreless gave you a link to yesterday.
The admin gave me 2 links to do this with but when I went to the right link it said abilty to reply had been turned off. The instructions read that was how we were supposed to post, it wouldn't let me. I'm confused & didn't know what else to do. I'm trying to follow the rules 🤷♀️. I've never done social media in my life, don't really understand it, never even owned a smart phone til a year ago. If I'm creating a problem / maybe I got in on this site at a wrong time I appologize. Let me know when the reply button gets turned back on & I'll try again later. I think I goofed.
Dear OneLump22, I'm sorry you're having trouble finding your way around. Our Daily Diary and weekly weigh ins get swapped halfway through the week. Part One is closed and part 2 opened.
Hi OneLump22, i think we all struggled to find our way around at first and in getting to understand the timings of things. As TheTabbyCat says, things get swapped on a wednesday as the posts can get too long and become very slow to load up. Please stick with it, you will get the hang of it i promise ❤️ I've had support to lose weight many many times over the years in different forms but using this forum with the huge amount of support and friendship has been a huge game changer for me. I've done better than ever before and completely changed the way i think about food and how lovely good healthy food can be. My previous response was to try and help you get the most from the forum and i apologise if it didn't come across that way xx
You haven’t goofed, it just takes time to find your way around, please don’t mistake the advice you were given about posting to be anything other than a friendly nudge in the right direction. Believe me, many of us took a while to find our way round and everyone has been more than helpful and encouraging to me. Stick with us! :)))
Hi OneLump22, I don’t normally read food plan posts but by chance yours popped up on my daily email. I just wondered whether the flavoured oats had a lot of sugar in them, in which case they might not be giving you the energy you might be expecting. I used to avoid fats but not really worry about sugar, but the following video (and others in the series), were an eye opener to me, and switching to a different way of thinking helped me with my weight loss. Best of luck!
I slways thought that eating that type of food I could loose weight & was beneficial to me but after found I had fatty liver from being a diabetic my adult life. I have been on a low carb diet. 30 grams of carbohydrates a day. Its hard to get that low, I started at 75 and went down from there. Feel much better, have lost 65lbs and still need to loose 65 more but this time is do able. This was suggested to me by my liver dr. , this is what I do but always enjoy the interactions with friends on this site. Ron
Hi . I agree with another person here that those porridge pots are very sugary . I buy the cheap 75p for 1 kg bags and make with water . I add full fat Greek yogurt and a small portion of fresh fruit . I am never hungry with this . My mistake at first was to cut calories but I actually lost more weight by increasing from 1250 to 1450 per day . I found the portioned slimming meals weren't substantial enough . By 9pm I was picking at anything I could find . A 2-3 egg omelette is my go to lazy meal with a large salad .
T y. Will give it a go. Are you talking about plain oatmeal? I wasn't sure. I can't eat the plain, it aggravates my GIRD plus I was just diagnosed with a herniated oesophagus & that gets problems too. Even though I'm working, I'm socked for money because I can only handle working part time, but doing my best.
I am talking plain porridge oats made with water . If I mix with plain yogurt it dilutes the thick gluey consistency. I understand the problem of eating heavier foods as I had surgery for hiatus hernia in 2018 -hence the push to shed a cart load of weight . I eat on a budget so have found a 300g tub of cottage cheese lasts 2 meals . I buy the plain - found Lidl less watery and good value to then flavour with herbs , smoked paprika and tons of salad . I sometimes make my own coleslaw with a bit of carrot , cabbage , onion and low cal salad cream . Throw in a tin of tuna in spring water / drained or prawns which are often discounted in the evenings or a frozen bag does a few meals . I have found fresh a lot cheaper especially now I don’t spend £3-4 on biscuits and processed snacks . I cook my own chicken drumsticks and legs as that is cheaper than buying packs of ready to eat chicken .
