Whats a good alternative for snacking on rather than fruit? Im allergic to a lot of fruits and the ones im not allergic to i generally dont like, typical!! A friend eats low calorie jelly but that just doesnt fill me up at all! Before i would have had crisps or chewy sweets but they are out the window now haha :)

Oatcake and hummus

A couple of nuts with a piece of carb, eg a carrot

A cup of veg soup

These are some I like though it was difficult to think of fruit-free snacks! - small bowl of plain cottage cheese ( not the "light" one = tasteless) with cherry tomatoes or grated carrot, small slice of rye bread or toast with nut butter ( there's a good variety now, hazlenut, cashew, almond that you can get without added oil or sugar) a few squares of very dark chocolate (85% cocoa), small portion of good flavoured cheese or a few whole nuts (do weigh as easy to clock up calories with both), a hard boiled egg with tomatoes (I buy a lot of tomatoes lol), small bowl of porridge. Number of calories for above would depend on your portion size. Hope some of these might give you an idea? ☀️

Toast a packet of pumpkin seeds in a dry non-stick fry pan or Halogen oven for 5 minutes. Pop them in an airtight container for when you get the munchies, I find a small handful, eaten 1 by 1, very filling

A 'good hunk of cheese' would be very high in calories. Not so much a snack as a meal (a common lunch for me with celery or carrot or cherry tomatoes or all three)

Hi .... I ind crisp read / oatcake with cashew butter really helps you feel full... Or bowl of sugar free jelly . Good luck with whatever you decide I know the battle can be won slowly but surly.

i've been having two oatcakes with cashew nut spread (very thinly) the oat cakes are 33 cals each so I just estimate at 100cal snack. I also got some herb tartex which is quite nice, gotta be careful to spread thinly!!

I also LOVE salt and vinegar rice cakes they totally stave my crisp craving with just one at 33cal!

Quorn hot dogs make a nice snack too 66 cal each! Nice cold too, I sometimes have them with asparagus or some butterbeans cold preped ready when I'm out and about.

I wouldn't necessarily call it fortunate to skip lunch. Eating, especially a 'meal' fulfils more functions than nutrition.

Snacking healthily is really important for some people but snacking doesn't work for me at all. If I do get hungry before a meal at the usual time, I will bring that meal forward instead (because I often can)... and reflect on what was wrong with the previous meal that it didn't sustain me.

Hi, I'm a huge crisp fiend (those and cider has got me where I am, which is not where I want to be lol) but have found that Ryvita are a good snack for me - I know they don't sound very interesting - I top them with a bit of jalapeño hummus and find the spicy crunchiness just what I need, I genuinely do enjoy them and I'm not missing the crisps so much.

I also have fresh fries or monster munch as a crisp alternative without using too many calaries but do treat myself to proper crisps every so often and actually enjoy them more than when I simply eat them all the time.
