Thanks for sharing. The article is ok, although it really is about what works for you. After struggling to exercise for the last couple years, I have finally gotten in the groove again and been pretty consistent in exercising twice a day for the past 2.5 months. The two main things for me are 1) making it simple - I almost always walk/jog the same route. But, the second thing, and probably it is because I am not a SMART person but I personally believe that it is ok to have ridiculously big and completely unrealistic goals. It is definitely ok to dream big but it is all about taking the millions of steps - in the right direction - that are required to get there. Enjoy the journey!

but it has been my experience....not only myself but with other people if i set too big of a goal and then don't achieve it...i get frustrated and disappointed that I didn't make the goal.....not just in exercise....but in everything.....fighting this battle pretty good now

Definitely do what works for you. I am not good with goals, even smart ones, but unrealistic dreams can often motivate me. I think the key is taking action and continuing to take action even when things don't go as planned.lesswrong.com/posts/JBR6AF9...

I like a lot of the posts on the less wrong - great title - blog. This one on the laziness death spiral is pretty good. I have definitely found myself caught there quite often.

Thanks for sharing, I think this covers a lot of the common barriers really well. I like the tips, especially 'start small'. Sometimes we can think exercise has to be a certain thing, but any movement counts and it all adds up!

I try but not on days in pain, sciatica/pinched nerve running all from back to hip and leg and ankle

Some days it's few and other days more even none. It fluctuates so much exercise yes or no
