What It Takes

I was just thinking the other day about what it really takes to achieve something you're proud of. You know, whether it's climbing a mountain, learning guitar, or working on a health goal, it always seems to come down to a few key things. First, you've gotta put in the work—no magic wands, unfortunately! Second, you have to actually believe you can do it, which can be the toughest part sometimes. And third, you need people who have your back. Folks who cheer you on, pick you up when you fall, and celebrate your wins with you. Honestly, that support is everything. Keep inspiring each other!

So true . You find that older people who still have goals and a variety of life live longer too .I realised I had to change eating habits for life. No unattainable faddy elimination of certain food groups that wasn’t practical but balance and occasionally having those things I craved but couldn’t have every day . Cut my portion sizes . Take food with me instead of eating ultra processed rubbish in a cafe . This has saved me money too so the cost of living crisis hasn’t hit me so hard . Adapting hasn’t always been grim . I overate to the point of greed and overspent excessively. Older is wiser if you think what is damaging me inside and out . You are right . Set goals and expectations..

I love that you said older is wiser! It's so true, isn't it? It seems like with age comes a better understanding of what truly matters for our well-being, both inside and out. It's inspiring to see you taking such a balanced approach.

Can’t stand the word “diet “. It screams control and that is another thing as you age - your control expands .

That's such a great point about control expanding as you age. It's so true that with time comes a better understanding of what works for us, especially when it comes to our own bodies. It sounds like you've discovered a really empowering approach.
