My name is Lisa, I am deff not new to weight loss, but I am new to this site.
My highest recorded weight was 310 pounds, and my current weight is 217 pounds.
It has taken me a long time to reach this point because did not always focus on losing weight. In fact, it has been almost four years that I have maintained a weight of around 220-225 pounds. I had many other things happening in my life and did not mind maintaining my weight for a while.
Like many individuals, I am aiming to lose weight in the coming year. Life is becoming more stable, and I feel that I can now prioritize my personal well-being.
i am adding a pic, it wont let me post under.
as you can see, i still have quite a ways to go

Good morning Lisa and welcome to our forum. Firstly let me say a huge well done for the weight you have already lost. I think the way you have gone about this is a really good way. You can identify times when losing weight is not going to be your focus and have maintained until you are ready to go again. A huge congratulations for that, many of us just go up and down in these situations.
Have a good look at the FAQ's and Welcome Newbies as they explain how to navigate the site. Following those 2 threads are our pinned posts. We advice anyone new to start,as a minimum, with the Weekly Weigh In (self explanatory) and the Daily Diary, this is where we share our planned meals for the day and chat about anything that's going on in our day that will help or hinder us to stick to that plan. You will find lots of friendly chat, support and advice on all our pinned posts.
We look forward to seeing you actively joining in xx
Wow - that takes determination and even more to keep it off . For me not only the weight loss but the energy I have . No knee pain , can carry bags without huffing and puffing . My sons didn't say much but that one or 2 comments mean so much and they were worried about me too . My mindset changed . I was quite disgusted with the ads for fast food and my 2 food apps were banished from my phone - those tempting offers now make me angry .
You are an inspiration for us all . Thanks for sharing your picture too . What a difference.
Welcome , Lisa, and yes I agree with what the others have said, well done on a successful weightloss and maintaining until you were ready to go again. You probably don’t need too much advice since you clearly know what to do but hope you will join in with some of the threads where you’ll get support and might be able to offer support to others too. Hope you have an enjoyable Christmas day, and loook forward to chatting on here.
Hi, Lisa! My story is much the same as yours: weighed around 300, lost a lot, then maintained for a while. When I saw my weight starting to creep up again I decided to be more attentive to what I was doing.
I started using my food tracker again and am seeing a slow move downward. I'm at just under 217 now and am paying closer attention to my calorie intake.
