About 4 years ago I lost 291 pounds on my own without surgery. In the past 4 years, I gained back 100 pounds and need to get back on track. I have gotten serious and recently lost 13 pounds. I feel motivated and need to continue to get back to my goal weight. Just found this website and hope to make friends to share this journey with.

sjm1027 introduction
Hi sjm1027, welcome to the site. An administrator will surely be stopping by to say hello with a few tips and tricks on how the site works so I will leave that to their expert hands.
That was some weight loss, well done, must have had major impact on your way of life, you'll probably get inundated with requests on how you did it! It's a very encouraging site and the more you put in the more you will get out of it.
Good going on your lost. I know in a way how you feel. I did the same lost close to 100 lbs but gain back 60 of it my husband had 3 heart attacks in one month among a lot of other things going on. But got back on track lost 107 in a little over a year still have about 100 to go. I find it hard to stay on track. I have not gone off of it but have to gave my self a little talking to to stay on track for about 2 months. I find it hard but I need to. For my health I only eat healthy. Still to lazy to exercise I'm 62 all ways hated to exercise. But I say congratulations I hope some day to reach a healthy goal. No surgery for me.
Hi Vickiejane, your right this is a tough battle. After losing all my wait and exceeding my goal I never thought I would gain the weight back. This is why I need to surround myself with people of the same mindset and move forward with my weight loss. I can already feel the negative effects and I hate to. After losing just 13 pounds I started feeling better. Doesn't take much but it does take willpower for sure. Good luck.
I don't think will power it's I think. It your mind set on a goal. How you feel. How much more you can do the more healthy you get. It's hard hard you work for it. Things that easy or given to you are you dont stick to you if you are working hard at it takes time. You learn by it. If you don't learn you will repeat until you learn by it.

Well done..how did you do it?
It's a looong 3 year story but to shorten it up.
One day at 475 lbs I just had enough, wanted my life back. Daughter was 23 and I wanted nothing more than her have great pictures of us walking down the isle at her wedding. I focused on weight loss it was my goal to walk proudly down that isle and I reached my goal.
I'm also new to this site and also have about 100lbs to lose. My problem is staying motivated I think, I can quickly talk myself into having a 'day off' which we all know can quickly turn into a week.
I'm also hoping that having friends in my situation can help me so let's help each other. 😀
Your right. The old me would do good for 3 days then make one mistake and not focus back on weight loss for 2 weeks to find myself gaining even more weight. Slow and steady wins the race!!!!
Let's hope so 😀
No, let's make it happen. It's work on our part. The reward is far better than the hard work in the end.
That is some weight los well done you, if you did it before you can do it again. You will get lots of support from this group and you will also be an inspiration to others. Good luck and keep posting.
