My cold has finally gone, but I haven't managed to get back into exercise yet - lack of will-power is the reason, and I don't have many excuses. I have got my period though, and consequently I think that my weight is probably exaggerated due to hormone imbalances. Oh well... I will finally confess that this week I have gained 2 whole pounds! So I am now 14 stone 5.0 pounds. Oh no!!!!!
I sincerely hope that you have all had a better week than me.
My goal for next week is to lose 2 pounds, because I need to get this excess weight off, and I must work on my will-power and motivation, and get myself back on track.
Good luck to everyone for this week.

Yes, let's hope we get a positive change this week. It's great that you've got back into your walking - and also counting the calories. Well done! Sounds like you had an enjoyable meal last night, and hopefully you will see some results next week.
I have had a walk today (45 minutes) and that felt really good.
Maybe it's time to look at tweaking your food, you should ideally be aiming to lose each week even without the ability to exercising. I'm not having a go it would just be a real shame to start sliding now after all the effort you have put in to date.
There is one calendar month to Christmas, a tricky time for all of us that are either trying to lose or maintain, it'll be far better to get there having lost weight than get there with a gain.
Good Luck with this week, try to stay focused and on track!
Thanks so much for your advice - it is much appreciated, because I do acknowledge that I need to 'do' something to change this current horrible trend towards weight gain.
It's actually helpful to think of the fact it's one calendar month to Christmas, because that means about 4 weeks, and I am going to try to get rid of 5 pounds in that time period, so I can be hopefully under 14 stone by Christmas. That would be amazing if I could do that.
I will try to stay focused and on track this week!
Hi Lowcal. I know what you mean about weight changes and hormones. My weight follows a fairly predictable monthly pattern with little change or even a gain for 3/4 of the month and then suddenly dropping! And I swear it is nothing to do with eating more/less or exercising differently.
I've managed to lose 0.2kg this week, weighed in this morning at 64.2kg Slow progress but at least I'm heading in the right direction. I'll try to finally manage to get down below 64kg by next week. Unfortunately I've caught a cold so won't be getting that much exercise until I feel a bit better Still planning to head to the gym but probably just for a swim instead of a full work out. No way I can run in the cold with a blocked up nose!
Congratulations on your 0.2kg loss. That is great.
Sorry to hear you've got a cold - be careful not to overdo things - I think that one reason that my cold went on so long was that I tried to get back to exercise too quickly - I ended up having the cold for a long time as a result. But you sound like you're aiming to pace yourself, and that you are planning on having a relaxing swim, so I hope you enjoy that.
I have been out for a 45 minute walk at lunchtime today, and that was enjoyable. I've not done any exercise for a while, and it was just nice to stretch my legs and get fresh air in my lungs.
Hope you feel better soon from your cold, and hope you have a good week.
Sounds like you had a nice walk. I had a lunchtime meeting today so have been inside all day. Going home now to put my feet up. I'll get my stove going and stick a film on to watch on TV. Always makes me feel better to cosy up on the sofa
aaah Lowcal - was not going to tune in this week - but felt honour bound to do so after reading all the posts. I have yet again proved that if you keep doing the same thing - then YOU GET THE SAME RESULTS. So ditto I am yet again the same as last week - which is totally dull- but i guess i haven't gained. i am bouncing up and down between 11 13 and 12 1. So had a stern talking with husband on Sunday - and started this week with a new resolve - except that buffet work lunch was bit of an undoer yesterday.
Great to hear your feeling better and that you are cheerful. thanks oldbeans for the timely/gentle reminder we are here to lose weight!
Glad you didn't gain any weight this week. Sounds like you are starting this week with a positive resolve, and I am sure that will stand you in good stead! You mentioned feeling 'strong and positive' and that sounds really focused.
I have managed to do a walk today as well as yesterday, so am feeling good for that. I am also watching what I eat - and cutting back on some excesses that had started creeping into my daily consumption!
Hi back from a mini break in Spain so up to 11.2 this week, I am out for the first of 2 Xmas dinners this week so I am hoping for maintainance ..... Good luck everyone
Hope you had a great time on your minibreak in Spain, and welcome back! Hope you enjoy the Xmas dinners, and the best of luck with your maintainance goal.
Not really, just been doing a bit more exercise and trying to avoid eating too many tempting treats. I find it very tough at this time of year, but am trying to keep on track!
Hope you have had a good week. I've reported on my weight loss in the other thread, but just wanted to respond to your comment.
