Hello and welcome to our forum. I'm sorry you didn't have success with WW. Weight loss has to be sustainable. Some members have found that WW and other weight loss groups are not sustainable and have found it difficult to maintain the weight lost.

You have come to the right place to get help and support. Plus it is free! No weekly/ monthly subscriptions. Here is a link to help you find your way aroundhealthunlocked.com/weight-l.... Do have a good look around and read all the links. You might like to start by posting your start weight and some information about yourself on the Weigh In. This way you will get to know regular weighers on your chosen day. The more you join in the more support you will get so keep coming back an chatting.

You will also find information about clubs and challenges which you are welcome to join.

If you have any questions just ask

Hi , and welcome. I am one of those former WWs who did find success and have kept most of it off for 15 years. I was extremely lucky to join a group with a fantastic and enthusiastic leader. Perhaps give us a bit more info about how much you want to lose, what didn’t work for you with ww for example? Did you go to the meetings -scary, I know. I do know they’ve changed a lot since I went and the counting system can be confusing. WW or any other plan, everyone on here is very supportive but its hard to offer help or advice without knowing a bit more about you.

Good Morning, I can sort of help, I’ve been where you are and I’ve done them all.

My own thought is that what we eat is only a small part of being overweight, obviously there are practical issues but most people know enough these days about how to eat relatively healthily.

I suspect that for most people it comes down to 2 big issues; accountability (which is why I think fat clubs work initially) and what I have observed to be a big issue and that is WHY. Once you get the why sorted then it becomes easier.

You will see I said ‘becomes’ easier, because it is hard work.

I used to stuff pain down with food. I sought help about past painful hurts, this means I no longer misery eat. I can testify to the truth of it because I was widowed in January and I haven’t sat and eaten lots of nice food to make it all better! Kind people often suggest something nice to eat and bring me cakes and sweets and drinks. It would have been so easy to have taken that familiar route which I have done in the past, but I haven’t.

Our weigh in group is free, the best rule it has is to encourage 3 others. I haven’t been able to do that this year but I lost and maintained a 2 stone loss until my husband died.

Please come and join but maybe at the same time work out why you eat as well as what. We are a hugely supportive community and since January I’ve just lurked in the background and they have just loved me through it, these wonderful people who have their own issues.

Looking forward to speaking to you again
