Hello, this is my first post here. I have been trying to lose weight for so long and absolutely nothing seems to be working. I am 66 and have paroxysmal AFib, diverticular disease and gallstones. I take bisoprolol and edoxaban. I have been slim for most of my life but the last few years, and now I need to lose weight so I can have an ablation. However the AFib has reduced my ability to exercise and it doesn't seem to make a difference however little I eat. I am in despair about my weight and my mental health is getting worse as it is all I seem to think about 😢. If anyone has any advice at all, I would be so grateful.

Welcome and sorry you are struggling with health issues and weightloss. I agree with tTC that exercise is not essential for weightloss but I learnt some years ago that healthy weightloss is not necessarily about eating less but eating better. Have you spoken with your medical team about weightloss. Are you calorie counting , reducing cards or do you follow another plan for weightloss. You will get plenty of support here if you join in with the various topics.
Hey there,
I'm really sorry you're dealing with all of this. Losing weight is tough, especially when you've got health issues to contend with. Since exercising is hard right now, focusing on your diet might be a good place to start. A dietitian can help you figure out what works best for you given your conditions. And don't forget about taking care of your mental health too – talking to someone or finding ways to relax could make a big difference. It's okay if progress feels slow – every little step forward counts. Hang in there, and remember, we're all rooting for you!
