Hi! I'm completely new here, so here it goes: I study nutrition at a master's level, I almost finished a personal trainer licence (decided not to do it after all) and have been training and learning about nutrition for the past 11+ years.
I could say I have a pretty good idea of nutrition and fitness, but since having unsupportive environment the past couple of years, my fitness levels have declined, I gained 12kg and I know WHAT to do to go back to my "regular". The problem is in the lack of support I have around me, so here I am.
I hope you all are doing good, and if not, I will support where I can as well
Have a great Thursday and I will be sticking to my deficit today and ticking off an upper body session at the gym after work. 🤞

hi, the support on here has been great for me, especially the first time around when i lost a substantial amount (for me), and so accepting when people dip in and out, mess up and come back etc.
For me, a lot was about embedding better food and exercise practice - for food it was reducing the amount of carbs I was consuming made all the difference. It is so easy to do ‘sandwich at lunch’, pasta for tea and trying to get equal share of the bottle of wine with my husband…
Welcome! You've come to the right place for support!
I don't have official training, but I've hung around in online weight loss environments for long enough to pick up a few things. I'm half tempted to follow the nutritionist path but I'm nervous about going back to studying after 20 odd years!
I'm on holiday atm but hopefully we can chat at some point!
Hi thenutritionist -I didn’t interpret your post that you were offering ’professional advice’ but rather that bearing in mind what you know, its still difficult without support. I lost with weightwatchers some years ago and initially I didn’t get the support at home that would have helped but I think once my family realised that I was serious ( after I’d lost a significant amount such that it was noticeable to everyone) they cottoned on and became more supportive, and in fact proud when I got to my goal weight. It really comes down to putting your needs first -yes I was still mums taxi, homework helper, lunchbox maker, but if it was a ww meeting or ex class, gym session or swim then they had to fit in or ask dad. This forum is great for support -we pretty much all know what we have to do, inspiration and support on here help us get there.
