Hi JB, welcome and good luck with your ’mission’, sounds ’do-able to me. I don’t know if you’re a member of diabetics UK, they have a very active forum and loads of useful info which may be of help to you.
Welcome! An upcoming holiday can be great motivation, but I'd also recommend just getting your good habits in place for the long term. I am not diagnosed diabetic, but I do need to cut down my sugar intake as well as portion sizes in general, so I'm right beside you in this!
I'll look forward to seeing you around!

Hey there!
Setting a goal to lose weight and manage your diabetes is a great step towards better health. Portion control is indeed key, so try using smaller plates and paying attention to serving sizes. Focus on filling your plate with plenty of veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains to keep you full and satisfied.
In addition to watching what you eat, staying active can also help with weight loss and managing blood sugar levels. Even small changes like taking a short walk after meals can make a big difference.
Remember to be patient with yourself and celebrate every little victory along the way. You've got this!
