Starting the Journey to Lose 10-15 Pounds.

I am roughly 135 pounds, but I’m not quite sure as I believe I need to purchase a new scale as I’ve had mine for many years and sometimes it throws a few random numbers at me, while other times it’ll give me consistent numbers. Today, to help burn additional calories while at work for my usual 9.5-10 hours, I plan to engage in N.E.A.T (Non-Activity Exercise Thermogenis) such as fidgeting while seated and standing, continuing my frequent bathroom trips, etc., to help burn some additional calories throughout the day. I also have brought a low calorie soup that I love for lunch today, and plan to eat either eggs with cheese, onions, hot sauce and mixed vegetables for dinner or more soup, as I find myself loving this beef and vegetable soup as of lately. I will purchase a new scale after work today and weigh in tomorrow morning. I could use all the support I could get to help not want to snack when it gets slow during work hours and I become fairly bored. If anyone has any tips and tricks to dieting the healthy way, I’m all ears. I had anorexia for a decade and for the past year+ I’ve been recovered and reached a healthy weight as before I was very underweight, and now I find that I could stand to lose a few pounds in a healthy manner and just try to eat healthier in general as well as be more active. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday! #weightloss

Hi and welcome, Sleepy99 :)

Well done for beating anorexia, but I read on your profile that you're experiencing hunger and that's exactly what I experienced when I followed a low calorie, low fat diet. I found that a low carb way of eating is much easier to follow, because it doesn't leave me hungry.

There are many ways to lose weight and if you spend some time on the forum, you'll probably find ways that appeal to you and would be sustainable. I can recommend our Daily Diary as well as our Weigh-In. You can find all of our events, clubs and challenges here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)
