I don't know what's wrong with me. Let me try to make it simple. I always want to do something badly and very intensely. I'm just unable to make myself do that work. You can call it laziness, you can call it anything, carelessness, but I'm very sure it is not that. To give you an example, I'm going through a severe weight gain and I have a lot of health issues. And I want to start with a simple thing in my life, that is walking. And I'm just not able to push myself and do it. I don't know why. Even if I tell myself multiple times that it is important and try to convince myself to walk, even if I do it like a hundred times, I probably may start walking. But I'll end up stopping it within just two to three days. I'll probably feel that, oh yes, now I should walk because it's very important for me. But on the first day I feel very energetic. And on the second day I don't feel that much. On the third, fourth or fifth day, or just third or fourth day, I feel it absolutely very, very, very difficult to perform that activity. For example, walking. So very difficult that I feel as if somebody has kept 50 to 100 kilos over my shoulders and I'm unable to move. Even though I know it is important, it is the matter of life and death for me. But I'm still unable to push myself after a couple of days. What exactly do you think is wrong with me and what could be happening with me? Now to tell you a brief history of what health issues I'm going through, I have a pituitary tumor, hormonal imbalance, high cortisol levels, very, very, very low testosterone levels. I have sleep apnea, high growth hormone, I have continuous lower back pain, sciatica pain, I have severe migraine and severe neck pain. These are the things and I am overweight 142 kilos with the height of 5 feet 10 inches, 36 years of age, male. So this is what I'm going through. What do you think is wrong with my willpower and how should I improve my health condition and convince myself to walk every day? Do you think there is some sort of mental condition that I may be going through which is stopping me to perform walking on a daily basis or affecting my willpower? Or what do you think is happening with me? Please help. Thank you.

Help or advice or suggestions needed
My guess is that your are dealing with an internal conflict. Why won't you want to walk? Do you not enjoy it? Do you not have a good route to walk? Do you feel too tired to walk? You say that walking is a matter of life or death, but then you choose not to do it. Do you have anyone that you can get to walk with you? Having an accountability buddy is often helpful? Can you schedule a time to walk? Why don't you walk every morning first thing when you wake up. I think you will be able to walk today - and tomorrow !
Hello Fahad1234,
First of all, well done for getting on here and getting everything down that you are going through. When you look at all that you will see for yourself that there's a lot going on.
Whilst we aren't able to give any professional advice, what we do have within our groups is a LOT of members who have overcome difficulties, and who have managed to reduce their weight significantly.
One of the great features of this forum is the peer support - it's not easy to do it on your own.
We have a number of groups within the forum, and whilst you can have a look at them all in the link I'm putting at the bottom of this reply, I'd encourage you to join in with Fit is Fun, Daily Diary and the Weigh In.
Have a look around and do join in - you will be made very welcome,
Good luck!
Hi Fahad1234, sorry to hear of your struggles. First of all, well done for recognising your issue and reaching out -you sound as though you are already dealing with so much. I’m assuming you have medical professionals helping with your health conditions and have you spoken with them about what sounds to me ( a non-medic) like some kind of acute anxiety. It might be worth a chat with a medical person perhaps your GP, and/or a counsellor.
With regard to the walking, is it physically painful or uncomfortable, are you frightened, worried about meeting people. Do you have a friend who might walk with you? What are you wearing , particularly on your feet, and do you use walking poles ( the long sticks you can get from a sports shop or online). What distance are you trying to do.
Perhaps start with some smaller goals , just to walk twice a week for example, or to walk to the first lamp post from your house each day ( although for me that would already be about a mile
I have already found this forum very supportive so I hope you will continue to join in and tell us how things are going.
It's because it's mental work. You have to be motivated as its about living. Pills have to be combined with diet and exercise ..these 4 things work together. Losing weight is the hardest because certain foods comfort us make us feel good when eating it but afterwards if it's putting on weight we have to reduce or cut it out if we need to be slimmer.I have come off sugary sweets things and reduced carbs too eating more healthily ..the Mediterranean Diet is helping
Hi there Fahad1234,I am probably coming from a very different position but, I have a condition in egards doing things called chronic fatigue syndrome (cfs/me) and this means I have a similar desire to do things but the problem is energy. What I do too often is I forget about my condition and go in enthusiastically to do something and use my energy in too quick a go. What I am reading here is you get yourself to the point of doing it , enjoy it even and then it goes down hill from there. What I have to do is pace myself. In the past I walked 30 miles a week. My brain wants to do that still but, I know I can't. I feel that similarly your brain is saying do things but, it is too much. Start little and often rather than going full in. My physio told me this too. Small steps towards your bigger goal. Don't beat yourself up when you can't manage something as that will keep the circle going of eg: walk/don't walk worry. Instead remember that you did manage a walk the day before etc
Also, do you like swimming or other activities that are not as hard on your back etc can you ask your Dr about what is best for your conditions. They may even refer you to services that can help.
sounds like most guys that have there testosterone lowered by drugs needed for prostate cancer. You just don’t care and starting anything is near impossible. Good start would be to get your T checked and above 350.
