Over the past couple of years, I’ve been trying to lose weight but just don’t have the willpower to do it. For example, I got married in March this year so got down from 11stone to about 10 stone, I’ve since gone up to 11 stone 11lbs which is the heaviest I’ve ever been. I also don’t like how I look and have had to go up a clothes size.
I’ve been on Weight watchers but it makes me miserable cus I get bored of the foods and I fear it’ll be the same when calorie counting. I don’t know what to eat and wish someone would write a meal plan for me!
Does anyone have any tips of how I can lose weight and stick to it??
Thank you

Maybe it's time to try something different? Dieting is boring and miserable, so why not try finding a healthy and sustainable lifestyle instead? Have a look at these and see if they could help psychologytoday.com/us/blog...phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...

Welcome Naomilouise. What/how little is it that you feel you have to eat/do that makes you feel so deflated?
If you are trying to eat a very low calorie diet or eat things that you do not particularly like, you willpower will always run out, and you will overeat at some point.
I think the only sustainable way forward is to accept that weight loss takes time and find out what fits you - your tastebuds, your lifestyle (someone else’s meal plan won’t make you happy). Work with your body instead of against it.
I’m tracking what I eat/counting calories and find that it keeps me honest and focused, but if you are tired of tracking, it’s perhaps a good idea to try something else, as suggested by moreless
I wish you the best of luck. This place is full of supportive people, keep coming and we will cheer you on 🤗
I always just feel restricted and then seem to eat foods such as sweets etc more often cus the plan isn’t working. I would love to try some other plans like the meals from the body coach but just find it too expensive ☹️
I would love to change my lifestyle but just don’t know where to start! I guess I need to be more proactive and look into it a bit more and figure what’s best for me x
I know that feeling of being restricted. I start rebelling against whatever restriction I am imposing on myself... You are not alone with that feeling.
For me it works to make realistic meal plans where some evenings are with all the foods I enjoy but tweaked into lower calorie versions:
-Lasagna where every other layer of pasta is replaced by aubergine or courgette slices
-Pizza, homemade, smaller in size and with an ultra thin crust and a little less cheese than normal
- Spaghetti dishes where half the spaghetti is replaced by spiralised courgette
- Indian curries with cauliflower "rice" instead of rice or mixed into the rice
- Quiches but crustless
- A burger where the top bun is replaced by a salad leaf
- instead of ice cream (which I love) I blend 100 g of frozen mango with 100 g of full fat milk and a bit of vanilla. It does not need sugar or sweetener. It is my favorite treat, it makes me feel happy and it is so good!

My point is - a plan that makes you feel deprived is a lousy plan!
You could do keto, plenty of variety their bacon and eggs, pancakes, salads and fish, meat amd veges, low carb muffins and biscuits with a cream coffee. I have just started the carnivore diet🙈 believed to have massive health benefits and quick weight lose.
Weight loss is not all about motivation and masochism - if you "slim smart" it is not so hard!
Many of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
Hey, i totally feel the same, starting is always the hardest part ( for me anyways) but also staying on track is difficult, whats helped me is that i have started making small changes to my lifestyle for example i have one less sugar in my tea, i have shakes sometimes for lunch instead of a meal as they are so useful for on the go especially for work, i try to drink more water, most of the time i put a fruity infusion tea bag in so it encourages me to drink as not so plain and boring, and lastly self care, i never realised how this actually helps with the emotional side of it, and how important it really is.
Take some time for you, i often sit with a face mask on and i switch my phone off even if its for half a hour with a cup of tea, losing weight isn't just a physical challenge but its a mental one too, your mind needs to be ready.
make small changes and add a little exercise even if its a 15 minute walk, anything is better than nothing, hope this helps in some way, x
