Looking for others on the same journey to keep me inspired

Hi all, I'm finding it hard to stay on the diet regime these days, and I'm planning a fresh start. Wondered how to get inspiration from others on the same journey and suddenly thought of an online forum. Can't believe it took me this long to find you all. Anyway, I'm hoping to get inspired by all your stories.

Hi DietBuster and welcome to this amazing forum. I suggest you spend some time clicking about to find your way around. It's easier if you have a lap-top as there are several threads.

Have a good read of the pinned post “Welcome Newbies” and follow every thread.

Here’s the link to the pinned posts,

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a Weekly Weigh in.

You will find there's loads of tips about better eating, from other members. Sharing your daily menu not only helps you stay committed, it can help other members too.

Good luck I hope to "see " you around. 🍀

You're welcome DietBuster, at the moment Hopalong1 is hosting 2 challenges, Count down to Christmas and the Pebble Challenge . You'll find both in the pinned posts:)

Honestly- unless I just eat 3 meals a day and no snacks plus very limited alcohol, long walks , 3x a week Zumba , no eating after 7pm then I can maintain. If I go off track at all then the weight slowly creeps and hard to shift . For me this lifestyle is quite an ordeal but my health comes first . I do it slightly more subconsciously now but it is hard when my friends have teacakes , scones and that slab of cake and me on a cup of tea / coffee only . I am 63 and still trying.

next thing I was going to do here was look for other post-menopausal women because I am utterly certain it's much harder now than it used to be!

also.... yes, alcohol..... it's everywhere and quite difficult to avoid without being a total party pooper. I get quite resentful of the pressure to drink at any kind of celebration. or commiseration. or good day. or bad day. And that's just from my 88 year old mother!! 😂

I just dress up tonic water with ice and lemon but hate to be the one doing all the driving

N ow we work , we retire or in my case try to . My friends all have time. Time to walk , gym then cake/ coffee . I think there are so many articles written about the menopause however it was never discussed by my Mum or my Gran / Aunties but it shouldn't be used as a marketing tool down to hair / skin products , vitamins - you name it .

They are very inspirational and help keep you on track. Its worked well for. I have now lost 6stone 1lb since last Christmas This site also helps. Keep talking as others will keep you going. It's always a positive feed back here

Checking in daily when sticking to planned meals would help me, just to say 'Ive stuck to healthy weight losing meals.Ive lost weight and am dealing with issues with that, I can't be perfect but I want to stick to it rigidly for a few days, to enable me to feel confident about what I'm eating and enjoying increased exercise., so that I stop yo -yoing with my weight.t'
