Hi and welcome, Tanzaniagirl
Craving sweets often has to do with what we choose to eat, even if we think it's healthy. A high carb diet can keep those cravings going, so it might help you to reduce/eliminate some of the carbs in your diet
This video may help.

Refined sugar although addictive is not tooo hard to give up. After a week or so if you avoid it altogether you stop craving it, that what I found anyway. Your body has no need of it, it is devoid of nutrition. Over eaters anonymous is a great organisation for helping with anykind of food addiction.
Great advice here, for me too. Only think I’d add is for you to ‘learn to drink water rather than low sugar drinks. It took me a while to learn to do that, but its the best thing I ever changed . Wishing you the best of luck xx
Eating sweets is not eating a healthy diet, and cutting down probably won't help as sugar affects the hormones so that it acts like a drug and makes you want more sugar. White bread has the same effect only more extreme..
I'm in the same position but after a lifetime of eating sugary foods its very difficult to change
Yes, partly because we become acustomed to getting a taste hit. What I did to help me give up sugar in the early stages was to replace sweet snacks to spicy snacks like spiced nuts or biltong (the original recipie without sugar). When I became accustomed with non sugary snacks it was then easier to stop snacking altogether. It helps to avoid bread and sugary desserts in main meals because that will drive the urge to snack.
