I missed out on a rowing machine that I saw on my phone . So I thought I will look at getting one ,well you would think it's the crime of the century.
It will be a 2 minute wonder and where's it going to go?along with why don't you join the gym.
Well it won't be and I will make room for it and I don't want to join the gym.
Why do others get so worked up? about our attempts to be healthier and feel better about ourselves .

I wasn't angry when I read this . I found it funny . This is all the encouragement I would need . I can be stubborn . Please tell me I will fail . It will make me more determined . I couldn't afford Peleton / or justify cost so me and my app pedal away on a basic model . The 'you will last a week 'actually had me gloating . Admit novelty has worn off slightly but I wouldn't say it is covered in cobwebs either . Winter approaching I am going to wire in a TV and binge watch .
Having just taken it of the car and made it into the house I'm sat here looking at it waiting for it to be seen by others and then the remarks will start.
Anyway I can't take it back so it's here to stay .So I might as well got on board tomorrow and give it a go .Just got it in before the rain started
Along with my meditation I will be fit and more positive within no time .
Sniff sniff and I smell jealousy or a distinct - Why didn't I get one first? In NW our winters are long and I got sick of being conditioned to join the 7pm gym class driving in nutty weather coz I had either paid , booked , promised a lift or said ' See ya next week ' . Good for you I am sure you will make progress with this.
hi gman. Glad the meditation is going well. I used a rowing machine when I did a group session of physio for my knees and it was my favourite piece of equipment. They are so different to the old type and really work your muscles. I learned so much on that course and I can now take the stairs without any effort 👌 good luck with it.
You're not responsible for how other people respond Gary. Usually the response means something along the lines of "I wouldn't use a rowing machine/this reflects on me being overweight and not doing anything about it/you're showing me up" etc and actually has nothing whatsoever to do with you and everything to do with their wishes/feelings/experiences. Annoy them even more by saying yes you're probably right and carry on using it! We had the same experience when we bought a treadmill then (a lot)later when that collapsed (!) a cross trainer from which we've had many years' use ! Both have more than paid for gym membership. At the end of the day you'll be fitter (possibly a little bit richer) and they won't. It's not worth the energy trying to explain.....
Well done on a great purchase! (you know you'll get encouragement from this forum!)
And if you don't get on with it you can sell it on yourself
That's a great choice for a piece of fitness kit at home! -- combatting constant negativity can be exhausting, and it sounds like you've got just the right approach. Bat it away and do what you know is right for you anyway! Enjoy your new machine
I admire you Gary getting it despite the protests. I've been there done that with the gym and all I lost was my money. I have a cross trainer now and yes there are times when I get too lazy to use it but there are times when I get back on it and why because its still there. Its just making it a habit. You have inspired me to go back on it again. So thank you
well done. It’s one of the best exercise machines you can get. I have a rower and a bike, the rower after use goes up on its end and sits in the corner of the room and the bike is in the conservatory. Had them both for years and even though sometimes it’s a bit “fits and starts” I still use them both regularly. Saved a fortune on gyms and I can restart at any time..
