Feeling SO fed up.

Well I started the journey 6 weeks ago and was doing really well lost 12lbs. Good motivation from all of you thank you ☺

Today I should have weighed in however for the last 2 weeks I have not been well with a condition called labyrinthitis.

For those who don't know it is a condition that affects the balance in your ears. Mobilising is very difficult and I am a high fall risk my balance is comprised severely. The room literally spins on any slight head movement and you feel very sick it's a bit like sea sickness bit yout cant get off the boat.

It has clearly impacted on my steps one day I only achieved 172 this was literally visiting the loo. So this is the reason I have not weighed myself today. I honestly couldn't stand the disappointment -

I tried to go to asda yesterday with my husband and during the shopping trip my husband had to get me a chair and sit me down in the middle of asda -how embarrassing.

I think I had worked myself up prior to going because I thought with my gait being so wobbly people will think I am drunk.

I also have tinitus which is a ringing sound or like an airplane noise constantly in my ears head.

My home feels like an obstacle course marble fireplace glass coffee table fish tank and the stairs are a nightmare. Things you don't really consider.

I am fed up with this now. Sorry for moaning.

I Keep reading all your posts well done.

I haven't exceeded my calories but no real exercise. 😢

Hi totally understand where your coming from as I suffer from this too and there is nothing worse it's horrible ,however you have lost twelve lbs and that's brilliant ,I think u should wait until your feeling better and then get back to your steps and don't beat yourself up about it :) good luck hope your feeling better soon :)

I had labyrintitis some years ago, it is a truly unpleasant experience. Give your body a chance to recover. What you eat, or don't eat, is likely to affect your weight rather more than exercise. Just remind yourself about how much weight you have lost!

Thank you I just want to move safely stop feeling dizzy and sickly and get on with life.

Thank you I appreciate you have taken time to offer support. Tomorrow is another day. 👍

Thank you for your advice I do appreciate it. Sometimes we need to be reminded we cant control everything.

I know I am just impatient and feeling utterly fed up. Feeling that I am not in control of anything.

Hi just take one day at a time eat healthily you can only do your best.

Feeling dizzy/sick is just horrible plays with your mind too, did the doctor suggest anything for you? Maybe you have to let it take its course.

Hope you start to feel a little better soon best wishes Bev .💐😊

Hi Bev

I haven't been to see GP. I have had this before I have Serc and paracetamol but not doing a jot only making me more unstable.

I have found a balance clinic in Sheffield on the Internet never been so I do have plan 2 if it persists.

Just feeling miserable with myself and very frustrated. I need to accept it and go with the flow as others have suggested.

It's hard when everyone is moving forward.

Thanks for your support tomorrow is another day and fingers crossed a better day.☺

I've also had this in the past and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy! For three days I felt sick and, as you say Hidden the room spins with the slightest movement.

My doctor prescribed Cinnarizine and also suggested that I drink Lucozade Sport as I couldn't eat or drink and felt so weak. Also have tinnitus so know how you feel 🤒

I do hope you feel better soon, until it goes don't worry about exercise, I suspect you'll lose weight from not eating properly, although that's not the best way to do it!

Wish you better 😊

Hi Annon-E-Mouse

Thank you for your support I appreciate you have taken time to respond.

Yes I have had Cinnarazine and Serc might try Cinnarazine if no improvement - mind you its quiet old prescription.

Out of interest do you ever get milder symptoms if it going to thunder? Ie dizzyness feel your ears need to pop and they vibrate as though your talking in an echo? (Hope that makes sense)

See how today goes thank you again have a good week☺jane

Yes, I do get dizzy occasionally (once staggered sideways into the road when out walking) and sometimes feel my ears need to pop, they don't vibrate like I'm talking in echo though. I actually put the dizzy spells down to taking high blood pressure medication and my pressure drops down. Didn't connect it to the labyrinthitus and vertigo that I had!

Hope you're feeling better today 😄

Yes it does leave you at risk and vulnerable. You was lucky with the road. I have been stuck on the stairs a couple of times.

Oh it's a nuisance had a fairly comfy morning had a couple of issues in the last hour.

Thank's for your response I really do appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I am fed up of me moaning. ☺

No worries about moaning, does you good to get it out of your system 👍 😃

Nowadays I always shut my eyes when laying down and getting up, it does help.

I've had several bouts of this during this year and have tinnitus too. I take Stematil (spelt like this I hope!) can't remember generic name but better for me than other ones. Happily I don't have it at the moment but occasionally it attacks me ( along with lots of other things!) and makes it very difficult to function. I do suffer a great deal with stress - have any of you others found a correlation with a particularly stressful period? Sometimes everything gets so mixed up that it's impossible to separate it all out! Do hope it passes soon and don't worry about doing anything of except not falling over!!

Hi Marylou54

Thank you for taking the time to respond. You may have a point that this can be a stress reaction.

I also find rainy thundery weather tends to pop my ears.

It truly knocks you sideways. Yes I have taken stematil an anti emetic before also cinnarazine. It's the waves of dizziness and nausea and feelings of helplessness.

Decided to take the good advice from everyone to take the pressure off and try and chill a little ie go wit the flow.

Have a good week☺
