Hi all, I wonder if anyone can advise me, I am 14 and half a stone, at present I am losing weight with shake that weight, if I stick to it then I lose weight the problem is it gives me diarrhoea and I must visit the toilet about 10/12 times a day. Is it healthy to lose weight this way? I have got about 5 stone to lose so I must lose weight quickly or I know I would give up. Advice please.

Hi Sturdy,

I have to say I'm not a fan of VLCD's as a way to lose weight, as they teach nothing about eating sustainably and any weight lost is likely to be regained just as fast as it was lost, once the shakes are no longer being used. I would be even more cautious about them if they were causing me digestive upset.

Have a read of this post about someone who has lost a huge amount of weight whilst still eating properly and in a comparatively short period of time healthunlocked.com/weight-l...

Try to concentrate on your health, rather than a number on the scales and avoid the 'get slim quick' cons that flood the market.

You can do this :)

Thank you more less, I have to lose at least a stone very quick as I am waiting for an operation and the drs have said they will only operate if my bmi is 35 or below.

If your doctor's have told you to lose weight quickly, have you asked them how you can do that safely?
