I mentioned in my Saturday weigh in that I had been eating Chia pudding and wondered if that had helped me lose weight. I asked if anyone else had used it. but no-one admitted it!
If anyone has any experience it would be nice to know. I made it 1 cup seeds, 2 cups almond milk, dash of ground cinnamon, sprinkle of stevia and a squish of coconut syrup. Chia seeds have a lot of fibre. so beware.
The reason for the almond milk is that my dietician (NHS) recommended it to use occasionally - extra calcium as I have osteopenia. And Coconut syrup / sugar is supposedly a better sugar than normal stuff. It also tastes really nice! I use it on porridge - again mixed with stevia as otherwise too much sugar as I am just into Diabetes. ... (ugh that's 2021 for me, another new illness!)
Hi, I think it's the overall balance of what we eat that makes the difference, rather than one dish. Does it fit in with a suitable diet for diabetes? I don't have diabetes but I have seen lots of information about it here, and people who have had good results turning it round
No reason why it shouldn't fit diabetes diets - I hope! Just as long as it's not full of sugar and my dietician said I should try Almond milk so... I get the sugar free version of course).
It's funny how you should mention Chia pudding, because I planned to make some today, but didn't as the day escaped me. So, I aim to try making it tomorrow.
I'm hoping that it tastes okay, and will be filling. I too will be using Almond Milk.
I make a chocolate mousse that’s similar - almond milk, chia seeds and cocoa powder. It’s nice so long as you don’t mind the texture of chia seeds, which is definitely odd!
