Trying to find the best version of me...

Hi my name is Tracey and I'm new here,

I have hit an age where I feel fat and middle aged. I feel like I have become invisible, and have unsuccessfully tried to lose weight for years. If I lost it often as I thought about it I wouldn't have a problem.

Fortunately a friend sent me a link to a love running in 5 days course last October and I subscribed to the running group after the 5 day trial. It has been great for getting me kickstarted on my weigh loss journey and would thoroughly recommend it if the thought of running appeals to others bootyfitrunningclub.co.uk/.

Since starting with them I have lost 11lb, including relosing the 6lb I put on over Xmas!!

It has made me become more aware of what I want to achieve. I feel I need to lose 50lb, but as that is such an overwhelming number I have set myself 10lb per month with the view I should be at or near my target goal weight by the end of May 2020.

I am trying to walk/run 3 miles per day every day and restrict my calories (still working progress I'm afraid, some bad habits that need ironing out). I have tried to be more disciplined in logging my food (using Myfitnesspal) and am just starting to learn the I should always check the calorie count before I eat the snack, not post consumption! Most often I am shocked and feel they were never worth the calorie count. Not compared to how much I want to be a thinner fitter version of me. I am also trying to implement days of 16-8 fasting. But again sabotage the real process of this by snacking. Still I am more informed for starting month 2 of the challenge as I know the more weight I lose the harder it will become to lose too.

I echo what some-else has written on this site that I have done a damp January (I have a drink once a week) so not a completely dry week, but a couple of glasses of wine and I am done anyway!!

So my fourth week into 2021 and I have lost 8lb, my dilema is do I keep going to 31st January to try and hit my 10lb goal weight loss. Or do I start next four weeks with a new 10lb goal?

Hello Tracey and welcome to this amazing forum. You sound very organized both with your goals and how you intend reaching them.

I suggest you spend some time clicking about to find your way around. It's easier if you have a lap-top as there are several threads. If you’re using another device I strongly suggest that you use the web page as opposed to the app at least until you know your way around.

Have a good read of the pinned post “Welcome Newbies” and follow every thread.

Here’s the link to the pinned posts, healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Here’s the link for the “Tour” of the forum. If you haven’t already taken it.

I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a Weekly Weigh in.

You will find there's loads of tips about better eating, from other members. Sharing your daily menu not only helps you stay committed, it can help other members too.

Please be careful about sharing links as we have a 100% no advertising policy. I'm sure that you understand. Thank you.
