I'm back again.....for the 40000th time to try and do this.
I've fluctuated in weight but sitting at a very unhealthy 22st mark at the minute.
What I struggle with is getting exercise in, I'm stuck at a desk working all day then in the evening it's all about the boys (6yrs and 6mnths) and getting things like homework, dinner, baths, bed etc.
On top of that I have some irrational fear of going myself. Due to the boys, it makes it harder for myself and my wife to do it together, as someone needs to stay with them.
So basically what I'm looking for is someone in the Inverclyde area, that's about the same level of fitness as me, that can join me on this journey. I know it's a long shot, but having the company and be able to hold each other accountable would make a massive difference to me.
If anyone can help it'd be massively appreciated.
Thanks for reading,

I joined a site called ' next door' which lists loads of news / help near me but if this isn't in your area could you contact your community nurse or even put an ad in a local newsagents initially with minimum contact details but I am sure there are plenty of people who would take you up on this in the new year . Exercise you may get just running round after your children but if you wanted a break why not advertise yourself as a dog walker as I have found this safer than walking alone plus extra cash or even pushing a buggy around is brilliant exercise . It is more what I eat that makes the difference .
Plan your meals and only buy what you need to make them . If you haven't loads of crisps in the cupboard then you can't eat them . Try not to hide behind what you think your children will miss . My 5 boys ate fruit and veg and if your 6 year old has a few treats then keep them away in a tin . Do this for you . I had a bad health scare that I wouldn't wish on anyone . It started with indigestion , then progressed to not being able to swallow gluten or meat properly resulting in an op for hiatus hernia . Hospital said they were surprised I hadn't got diabetes. Shedding weight has helped both my physical and mental health . I got a new job that I wouldn't have even applied for and now wear clothes that I choose.
You are doing the right thing . Weigh in on this site and use it for support.
Thank you for all your advice! The wee man eats better than me when it comes to snacks. He loves fruit and stuff!
I'll take all this on board in my journey 😊 and sorry to hear about your health scare but glad you have made the changes that have helped you become more confident!
Keep in touch . Weigh in and don't expect overnight success but every pound is one less . Get a few bags of sugar together and you will see what a difference even 2lbs makes .
Will do 😊 is there a weigh in thread like there used to be?
Good luck. You have made the first move. We are all here to support you on your journey. Remember slow and steady is best. Small changes will make a difference. Trying smaller portions may be a good place to start. Can you not walk with your children. You can make it interesting by looking for items or colors. I walk my grandchildren to school even though I could take them by car. We play games on the way and I love it and I get my exercise done at the same time. I call it my quality time with them. Wishing you the very best.
I do walk to the school sometimes and take the dog out but she is a nightmare on the lead so it's never very far!
Main problem is that I have a call at 0830 every morning and meetings most days at pick up time, so my wife does the school runs. I do anytime I can though (all walking as it's only a 10 min walk away and easier than trying to park!)
Trying to get more walking in at the weekends though 😊
And of course the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially the weigh-in and the daily diary (pinned at the right of the page on a computer or scrolling to the bottom on a phone) are well worth either visiting or revisiting.
