My huge apologies to everyone doing the autumn challenge. I’ve failed. I have actually gained a pound. Sorry. Keep up your resolve, keep up your hard work, stay strong and stay safe. Wishing you all continued success.

Did you mean to post this on the Autumn Challenge, lighterflyer?

If you have to add a title, you're starting a new thread, not replying to an existing thread.

yes me too. I have gained one pound which is frustrating as I had been doing well. Back to writing down everything I eat I think. I know that vlcd work for me e.g lighterlife but I have been back on that roller coaster so often lose 2 stone, keep it off for a few months and put it back on. I really want to change my habits permanently and these long winter evenings are not helping

I hope you don't mind me saying but lighter life didn't work for you - at least, if you mean by "work", that you lose weight and keep it lost. We do tend to focus on the "losing" part of the equation when what we want (I assume) is to reach a healthy, happy weight and stay there. :)

yes you are right in one way as the longer terms effects didn't last. Originally I lost five and a half stone on lighter life and as the sessions focused on cbt and understanding issues which appeared unrelated to eating (although they were in a way) my bad habits and life style changes worked. I had a brilliant leader who also a counsellor. I cried when I lost over two stone as I had been putting on and taking off the same two stone for years with various slimming clubs. I did keep the weight off for many years but it has crept back on now and I am finding it difficult to re connect with all the learning from before. This forum is brilliant for motivation though. I was busy commuting and working away but attended gym and pool regularly. Working from home and miles from any shops should work for me as my work life balance is much better but unfortunately the weight is just not coming off.
