I've had a suspicion that my scales have been broken for a while now, made stronger when my cat dropped her carrier box on them. The scales claim I've lost 3lbs in less than 24 hours. I know my body and know this is not accurate so its time to invest in some new scales, I'm just hoping that what I thought I'd lost in weight from the results on the broken scales isn't too far off the reality when I get my new ones.
Take a tape measure while you are waiting and jot down waist and hip measurements, these will also go down over time.
This past week I’ve noticed fluctuations too, I always put my scales on exactly the same spot but the numbers keep going up over time from when I first step on. I’m hoping it’s a battery issue, so I’ve ordered some replacement batteries online, meanwhile I’m going for the first value I see and hoping 😉
They're accurate and the app is pretty good too (tracks your weight over time, and gives loads of body composition estimates - but note, they're only estimates so take them with a pinch of salt - but the scales are accurate).
