Hi HarleenQuinn
Welcome to the weight loss forum.
Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.
Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.
Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.
We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.
To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.
Have a good first week.
Rose
Hi Rose, thank you for all the tips. I was in bits earlier today. I tried so hard to cut down my portions with no cake, crisps or chocolate.
My co- worker took great pleasure in telling me that she'd lost 3.5 pounds in about the same matter of days, I asked her for tips and she announced she was doing it herself, one her own, we were supposed to be weight loss buddy's.
So, when I got on my scales after 1 week of dieting and nothing, I was so upset.
I came to the conclusion that, perhaps I was doing something wrong and after some googling found this site.
I have 6 stone to lose and I'm quite happy just to lose 2lbs a week as I don't wish to have loose skin. I have seen many 'fast' weight loss losers end up with lose skin, I really don't want that. Nor do I want to pile it all back on, another thing I've noticed with some people, who go back to 'normal' eating.
I know this healthy eating and exercise will be a change for the rest of my life, once I've lost the weight and I'm cool with that too.
I've already experienced the plague of being over weight by getting a DVT 4 years ago and my back and poor old knees are starting to complain now, so something has to be done, enough is enough, it's not even for vanity anymore, it's for health and longevity.
Once again thank you so much, it's very kind of you and kind of nice to know, I'm not alone.
With love,
HarleenQuinn. xxxx
Hi HarleenQuinn
I can understand how you felt earlier we have all been there. This is a very supportive forum which can help you lose weight at a steady pace and in a healthy way.
Hi HarleenQuinn i know that feeling! I usually try and do it on my own but thought a group might be a good way to keep me motivated. Good luck with your weight loss. Justine
Thank you Justine.
I've tried so hard this week and when I got on the scales today, nothing! I was heartbroken, I assumed I wasn't doing something right and really don't fancy weight watchers and the like, as, a lot of the 'Low fat' stuff they offer seem to have extra sugar in them, sugar brings on a severe hot flushes π³ That's how I know, trust me to have sugar as a menopausal flush trigger, lol.
I kinda figured, this site might help, I wouldn't want to let my fellow weight loss comrades down. ππ
I have 6 stone to lose, it'll be a long journey but I know it'll be worth it. Good luck to you as well, I know we can do it.ππ
With love, HarleenQuinn. xxxx
